PRAISE REPORTS

I was first introduced to New day ministries by a friend. At first I was slightly unsure about the idea as I was brought up in a christian background and although I have always believed in God church was always somewhere my parents would make me go, rather than going by my own will. From the first time I went

to Newday ministries I was made tofeel welcome by everyone and was taken back by the energy there. I particularly like the way the teachings relate to modern day life and situations we all face. It has made me realise that the bible is still relevant to all of our lives today. Through Newday ministries and Pastor Simon I have also learned about the notion of a relationship with God and that it is something more personal than the idea of religion which many people believe the christian faith is all about. Overall I have to say that the NewDay Newday Ministries is a modern church that is forward thinking and a church that welcomes everybody. If anyone is reading this and is looking for a church or some kind of spiritual guidance I say come down to New Day ministries you'll be more than welcome and like many others you'll be coming back for more. Id never though id ever look forward to church on Sunday's now you cant keep me away.

I started out as a child in the Jehovah Witness. My oldest brother was an elder who spoke at the large Twickenham assemblies in front of crowds of thousands, so there was a lot of expectation and eyes on me. I was more pressured into going to the Kingdom Hall twice a week and reading the Watchtower and the Awake instead of my Marvel and DC comics. As soon as I was old enough to rebel,

I did, as I was fed up of not having a birthdaypresent as well as Xmas. You have to live it to know… It’s not like nowadays as kids get gifts all year round… Back then it was Xmas, birthdays full stop.I rebelled as best as I could and was well out of the Witness before my teens, later in life I pretty much became an ashiest… God wasn’t for me and the theory of evolution was my ammunition and way of keeping the ‘church/witness’ people from handing me any leaflets and trying to brainwash me again after my suffered Christian childhood. I was anti-religion as the majority of church goers I knew were as I thought hypocrites. Growing up most parents I knew went to church on Sunday and really didn’t spare the rod at home. There’s a story where Diego Maradona who grew up dirt poor visited the Vatican when he was famous and asked the Pope if the church helped the children. The Pope answered ‘yes’… Maradona knew the church wasn’t helping the children when he was growing up, but they could have if they sold the gold ceiling above his head to help. Church wasn’t helping the children I knew so I lost total interest.

Anyway, my now wife started going to church a few years back and she put no pressure on me to attend, I wasn’t sick, I wasn’t lost and I sure wasn’t unhappy. I just knew that my first relationship with Christ was tainted due to my initial introduction. I started to try and build that relationship with Christ again but would I commit, it took nearly a year but I did. Proverbs 21 verse 16 says a man who strays from the path of understanding comes to rest in the company of the dead. I also lost two friends during that period in one week in motorcycle accident one of which I witnessed, so I knew things had to change within. New Day Ministries, Pastor Simon, Lady Brenda made me miss riding my motorcycle with the boys to hear the word and for that I am thankful.

Nikisha Lewis–A New Day A New future Before I came to NewDay I had no Job, No Car, And little faith, I had been drifting from Church to Church trying to find somewhere I could feel settled as my life was unsettled. I didn’t have the relationship I deserved to have with God. I didn’t know how to pray properly, I didn’t know how to

express myself spiritually to God, and I didn’t know how to listen out for him. All I knew was I needed to find him and quick.

In November 2006 I was introduced to NewDay Ministries, and I didn’t feel excluded as I did in other churches I’d visited before. It was a relief because I didn’t know how much more strain I could take and I didn’t know how to lift it, I was trying to find God and was almost giving up on looking.Initially I would have to travel on Bus for 1 hour to get there most Sunday’s, as I didn’t have a car, and sometimes borrow the Bus fare too. As I started to go more regularly I came to know Pastor Simon and his wife Lady Brenda, they taught me how to worship, how to give the Lord praise, how to ask for what my heart desires, how to not be afraid, how to have faith and how to Love with the love of the Lord. In December 2006 I was born again. I began setting my visions, dreams and goals I wanted to achieve. Within a Year of being baptised I was blessed by the Lord with two of my ‘Goals; I passed my driving test and was blessed with a car.

Sometimes as I’m driving I just have to praise his name and thank him for it, I gained a good Job and after working with the company on a temporary basis, not knowing if they were going to terminate my contract or extend it and after considering how my financial future may become a mess I confidently left it to God. Eventually when I couldn't take the angst any more, I was given the news that I was to become a Permanent member of staff. My testimony; God Is Good!!! IF I hadn’t met New Day Ministries, I don’t know how my life would have turned out, I want to thank Pastor Simon and Lady Brenda for welcoming me into their church and giving me an insight on how to fulfil my future via the Lord. I have finally found my Church Home, Familiy and My God, and I continue to look forward to my New Days with the ministry and with God’s Blessings.

My name is Andrejus Orlovas. I was born in Russia but grew up in Geogia.  I came to know God in Georgia but was not allowed to worship the true and living God and his son Jesus Christ.  The police caught me going in to a church to worship and threatened to lock me up but this did not stop me as I knew that Jesus was the only way.  On the third occasion when the police caught my

friend and I worshipping God, they arrested us and put drugs in our pockets. They handcuffed us and took us to prison.  They wanted us to sign  a declaration to say that the drugs was ours, so they could lock us up for a long time, to stop us from going to church. My friend and I refused to sign, so they beat us three times a day for threeweeks all over our body with a large metal bar.  They slammed my friend’s fingers in the door while I watched and I saw his fingers hanging off. They handed my friend the pen and because he could bear it no more, he stabbed himself in the neck. The police called the ambulance and as the ambulance approached I passed out and I too was taken to the hospital. God made a way out for me. I saw a window and jumped through it. Somehow with God’s grace I made it to Lithuania and then to Ireland. Finally I made it to England where I am now free to worship and praise God. Once in England things started to look up for me but not for long. I lost my job and ended up losing my accommodation. Not before long, I had no roof over my head at all and was sleeping in the park. Even such a time as this God was still merciful to me as the weather was extremely warm.

One night while I slept in the park, I saw a person appear to me clothed in brilliant white clothing. So bright I could not look upon the face but the person spoke to me in my language and told me to follow the sound and I will lead you to my people. By morning I remembered the dream but never understood what it meant. As I walked the streets I heard lots of sounds but none of them stirred me but then I heard some singing and decided to follow where it was coming from. The singing led me to NewDay Ministries. There I found my family, God’s people. Loving and kind brothers and sisters that helped me and made sure I never slept on the street or went hungry again. I have even been able to be baptized as this was not allowed back in my home country. Praise be to God. God truly has a purpose for me. I am happy God has directed me to NewDay Ministries and I hope that my days there will be long as I learn and develop more in Christ.

Before I turned to our Lord I never realised how he was by my side all the time.  Through the difficult periods in my life I have always prayed that things would be ok (maybe not even realising that I had faith).  The turning point for me was after my separation from my partner from having everything (house, car and money), which I thought was important I had nothing

At that time I always felt that something was missing in my life, so I filled my life with worldly things thinking that this would help ..... but it never. The one thing I always remembered was that I just prayed every morning and every evening, and the Lord provided me with everything that I needed (which I never even realised). This was just the beginining of my journey, searching for our Lord. New Day Ministries has been a great foundation in my hunger for knowledge of our Lord.  I have learnt a lot in a short space of time and I am still striving for more, knowledge and a deeper relationship with our Lord. The final thing I must say is that the Power of Prayer is so real, we just have to read Mark 11:24 (NIV). "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Amen.
